BODY MASS INDEX

The body mass index (BMI) is proxy for human body fat based on an individual’s weight and height. BMI does not actually measure the percentage of body fat.Rather it only tells you whether you are underweight ,normal or obese. Your body fat percentage is simply the percentage of fat your body contains. Are you in the healthy range?

Body Mass Index Calculation :

You can calculate you BODY MASS INDEX easily by just putting the correct values in the in sidebar.

OR BMI can be calculated by the various following formulas :

BMI              

= \frac{\mbox{mass}(\mathrm{kg})}{\left(\mbox{height}(\mathrm{m})\right)^2}

= \frac{\mbox{mass}(\mathrm{lb})}{\left(\mbox{height}(\mathrm{in})\right)^2}\times 703

= \frac{\mbox{mass}(\mathrm{lb})}{\left(\mbox{height}(\mathrm{ft})\right)^2}\times 4.88

= \frac{\mbox{mass}(\mathrm{st})}{\left(\mbox{height}(\mathrm{in})\right)^2}\times 9840

 

Body Mass Index Ranges :

Body-Mass-Index

Less than 18.5  : Underweight

18.5 to 25        : Normal

25 to 30          : Over weight

30 to 35          : Obese class 1 ( Moderately obese)

35 to 40          : Obese class 2 (Severely obese)

40 and above    : Obese class 3 (Morbid obese)

Body Mass Index And Health Risk :

27.5 and above High risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes.
23.0 to 27.4 Moderate risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes.
18.5 to 22.9 Low Risk (healthy range)
18.4 and below Risk of developing problems such as nutritional deficiency and osteoporosis.

    Love your infographics. But do you know….You can still be unhealthy with an ideal BMI because the bad hydrogenated oil happens to be INSIDE you, in arteries, etc.

    These days people do not know they are “rotting” inside because they remove symptoms from their faces through face creams and botox.

    • Ya Kelly i know very well about this but there is a solution for it aswell that is consumer awareness.It is the best protection.Always choose non-hydrogenated liquid vegetable oils like olive and canola oils and fatty foods like avocados, fish, nuts, olives and seeds.

    I think what you posted made a great deal of sense.
    However, what about this? what if you added a little content?
    I am not saying your content isn’t solid., however suppose you added a post title to possibly get a person’s attention?

    I mean Body Mass Index – BodyFitnessGain is kinda plain.
    You could peek at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create article headlines to get viewers to click. You might add a video or a related pic or two to grab readers interested about what you’ve got to say.
    Just my opinion, it might make your website a little bit more interesting.
